Hellish Times Requires

Heavenly Thinking

Though the country and its politics seems to be on a rollercoaster to Hell, I refuse to take the ride! I encourage all who are frustrated concerning America’s pending doom to focus on …whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. (Philippians 4: 8)

Dwelling on the darkside of political issues that we have no control over becomesvery depressing, sometimes to the point of affecting our health and sanity. That said, we still must remain aware and learn how to read between the lines of the evening news. In fact, I implore you not to take anything at face value -- think and determine wisely about what you are being told. As responsible citizens it is our duty to improve our cities, states, nation and the big bad wolf -- beginning in our own backyard.

Days are rapidly spinning into months and months into years. Life and times are becoming more precious. My heartfelt suggestion is to spend more of that time with family and friends; doing those things that we repeatedly say we will do – someday. Now is the appointed time – give up meaningless materialism and rich and famous goals and go have an adventure. Do something wonderfully different, for you, a loved one and/or a stranger. Stepping out of the box that the world system has programmed us to live in, refreshes, restores, and gives us a sense of what life was meant to be.

To fulfill our God-given purpose in this life, our body, soul, and spirit must be aligned – producing God’s light that will chase away the evils of the day. What we focus on and fill our ears, eyes and minds with, determines the brightness of that light, and ultimately our character. As a man thinketh so is he! When there’s light in the soul, there is beauty in the person. When there is beauty in the person, there is harmony within the home. When there is harmony within the home, there is order in the nation. When there’s order in the nation, there is peace in the world. This peace starts with us. The Bible promises that with the Lord’s return -- ready or not -- that day will come.
